Timothy M. Kaine was the Democratic nominee for Vice President of the United States in the 2016 election and has been the junior Senator from Virginia since 2013. Previously, he served as the Governor of Virginia from 2006–2010, the Lt. Governor of Virginia from 2002–2006, and the mayor of Richmond from 1998–2001.
Gov. Kaine was on hand to introduce Dave and Tim at the
Barack Obama rally in Richmond in 2008. At a
benefit for his PAC, Moving Virginia Forward, the following May, he played a few cover songs with Boyd and two other Charlottesville-area musicians, playing harmonica and even singing lead on one song.
